I had my one-week-after-treatment appointment today and it went great. My bloodwork looks good and my white blood count is high (a good thing),
which explains the horrible pain from the shot. She said I'm doing
really well!! The bone pain is minimal today...haven't even taken a Vicodin
but the pain from m port procedure will probably kick in shortly.
Also
had my port put in. Not as bad a I thought it was going to be. I was
totally numbed and didn't feel a thing. Still kinda scary cuz I was awake
but the doctor was hilarious and made me feel at
ease, along with the Ativan. I'm pretty doped up right now.
Also,
yesterday had a bit of tongue bs, which happens often with chemo. It's
temporary but it felt like I burned my tongue. It hurt to eat. The
nutritionist gave me a rinse to take (baking soda, salt and water) and
it does help. Today its better though. I can eat and I'm not in pain. My
tongue still feels a bit numb though.
Lots of changes and they are alll scary/interesting, but I am handling them
Hopefully the worst is over, aside from losing my hair. If this is how its going to be every 3 weeks, it's not so bad
